Author’s notes: Day 7 -What sets you apart from the crowd?
Jack doesn’t think there’s much that sets him apart from the crowd. He’s just a normal boy.
He guesses that his mom being murdered sets him apart, but he doesn’t like thinking about that. It makes his eyes sting and throat hurt, when he thinks about his mom and how he’ll never see her again. Sometimes, he thinks she’ll come home. At first, he looked for her every day, but now it only happens when he wakes up quickly.
He thinks his dad sets him apart from the crowd; he’s a superhero. Well a real superhero, ‘cause real people can’t fly and wearing a cape is kind of silly. Nobody else at his school has a dad as cool as his; most of the other kids’ parents are doctors, business people, professors, or something else not nearly as cool as being a superhero.
He guesses his parents are kind of special, and it makes him special. But what makes him the most special is that his parents really love him, and he loves them back.
