Chapter Five, The Boy Who Lived, is currently in the works, but doesn't look like it'll be finished anytime soon. Maybe by Sunday (my rought estimate). I have about 8,000 words written so far--but the stupid thing has grown from my original plan to potentially become over 12,000 words.
The stupid chapter was supposed to barely be 5-6,000 words when I first outlined it way back when I first started writing the whole story outline. But, *sigh*, none of my chapters seem to want to stick to the plan. I mean, none of my previous chapters were the lengths I wanted them to be (all of them are way~ longer!), and a lot of twists are happening that I never planned!
Like, for example, in this chapter! Oh, SPOILER WARNING, Minerva and Albus fight. Riddle and Pomfrey fight. And that was not supposed to happen!
*sigh*
That's why it's taking me so long. A lot of twists are happening that I didn't expect, and the chapter has grown. Really grown. I've written about 8,000 words now... and I don't think I'm halfway done with the chapter. I may have to split it up again. If I do, I'm just gonna go ahead and name it two different chapters, I think--instead of the Part I and Part II. Or maybe I won't. I'm not sure. I'll finish the chapter before deciding that!
Anywho, here's my scene-by-scene take on this chapter so far (very subject to change!):
Scene 1 -- Riddle -- 2,000
Scene 2 -- Minerva -- 2,000
Scene 3 -- Harry -- 2,000
Scene 4 -- Minerva -- 3,000
Scene 5 -- Harry -- 2,000
Scene 6 -- Minerva -- 1,000
Scene 7 -- Riddle -- 500
Total: 12,500 words (probably change drastically!)
Well, I have tomorrow and Sunday to work on it. I think I'll be able to finish it by Sunday. Hopefully. I've got a bit of time on my hands, so I'll definitely work on it.
Anywho, I've rambled enough for today....
Toodles!
