I'm still in China and still locked out of gmail. This would be less worrying if a) I had written down more information about my flight home and b) they didn't keep assuring me it would be up and running in 24hours. I can work the travel out, but I'm not sure how I will handle the terrible customer service upon return. Not everyone in China is trying to hack into gmail you paranoid bastards.
Aside from internet which I don't really get, China is great. My sister and I trekked Tiger Leaping Gorge, which was gorge and ass-kicking in terms of a hike. The 28 bends section was especially great because we got there at teh hotest time of day and it was.... 28 bends up the mountain! Sweat like crazy. Also we bought sunscreen, but it had a seperate bottle that we didn't quite understand.. it was the 'water-proof' part of the water proof sunscreen. We sweated off all our sunscreen and got pretty burned. Then we had a discussion about 'what was that stupid bottle we threw out?' 'Was that important?'. It was completely worth it, pictures when I get home. Plus the guest house in the middle is soooo cute. I saw it from far away and I couldn't even take a picture because I would be too disappointed if I had to stay some where else.
We also went ot Lijiang, the disneyland of China. We called all the people forced to wear native costumes 'Gu-rag'. The prices were ridiculous, but the town was very cute and we got delicios western breakfast! Yum.
We are now in Chengdu, on our way to the bamboo sea, a dinosaur museum and a stone forest. Wish us travel luck, I'll be in touch as soon as I get back and figure out gmail.
