sad news
i just got word that one of my favorite residents ever, mr. mattingly, passed away two weeks ago. he leased from me in april and was as spry and alert than someone 1/2 his age. he was 98 when he leased his apt and he had to break his lease about six weeks ago due to his health. his daughter called us a bit ago to give us the news.

MATTINGLY, WILBUR O., 99, of Okolona, passed away Monday, November 1, 2004, at Regency Healthcare Center. He was a millwright for International Harvester and a founding member of Okolona Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alliene Richardson Mattingly. He is survived by two daughters, Marylou Stevens (Clair) of Brandenburg, KY, and Patricia Ann Whitworth (Bob) of Hernando, FL; a sister, Rita Jackman of Louisville; five grandchildren, Larry R. Maddox, Ramona Lynn Adams, Jennifer S. Lauletta and Stephen and Brian Whitworth; one great-grandson, Nicholas W. Lauletta; one great-grand-daughter, Stephanie Maddox; and countless friends. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 14, 2004, at Okolona Baptist Church, 9301 Pres- ton Hwy. Arrangements by Arch L. Heady & Son, Okolona. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Okolona Baptist Church.
