Ice Beauty

So I'll post one more photo here. Despite the destruction and power out I was really struck on the drive to Hamilton yesterday how gorgeous the trees looked covered in ice. It was one of the most exquisite drives I've ever taken. With the sun shining behind them the forests looked like crystal, like something out of a fantasy landscape. Just breath-taking. And then you would pass a home with a huge old splintered and destroyed tree or big branches that had fallen on power lines and fences and we found ourselves using the same mantra all along the road- "So gorgeous... and plenty treacherous, too.".
