I've decided I'm going to try using my guitar in music class today for the first time this school year. Hmmm, we'll see how it goes and how long my wrist will hold up. I'm going to teach the kids "The Hockey Monkey Song" :). It's always sure fire and it's simple, too. Only three chords- D, G, A- all of which I should be OK to handle without too much discomfort. It's also a good potential song for the Kindergarten Christmas concert.
I pulled out the 6-string nylon string guitar I keep in my classroom to give it a try at lunchtime and when the kids realized I was able to play guitar again they were VERY excited. Some of them have been waiting since early September for me to play guitar in class- it ought to be a rather hyper group come music time :).
But it will be good for me to see how much endurance I have for simple songs right now before moving into more intense class practising for the Kindergarten concert in December.
