Vikings?
Just curious...
What with John and I planning to go to L'Anse aux Meadows in Newfoundland this summer, the confirmed site of a Viking village, I've found myself becoming interested in Viking culture and mythology. I'd like to read up some before going to Newfoundland. I will admit to knowing extremely little about Vikings, except, of course, the typical images and associations.
Can anyone out there recommend to me any books (non-fiction or fiction) or movies or documentaries or songs or any other source to learn more about Viking culture? I know I could probably surf and read lots on the Internet (and I likely will, so please feel free to recommend websites, too), but books and movies have the advantage of being able to read/watch in comfort without having to be at the computer.
