But it is nonstandard. It is a word, but not of the proper English language.

I thought putting a "boot in the ass" of others is a pretty good indicator of American foreign policy these days. But I <3 the USA anyway.

Re: your stress- Easier said than done, I know, but you need to keep things in perspective.

What i mean is this.
"on a scale of 1-10, how stressed out would you be if [current stressor, let's use school grades] were low this semester - Like, you got a D or something?"

You'd probably say about a 9 or so.

But then i hit you with "well, how stressed would you be if your house burned down", and you'd probably have to say 10, because that's all you have left after 9.

But in reality, that 9 isn't really a 9 anymore, is it? it's maybe a 6. MAYBE. Probably even less. If there's no significant property loss, death, or illness, you're down to a 7, max. And you can deal with a 7 or below.

:)

In terms of the American way, I know! When I started to write it's not the American way, I had to stop and then added that it's not my way. Argh. The whole thing angers me.

With stress, I know I can handle it. I've always handled it. But lately its been due to reasons more severe than poor grades. Reasons that are out of my hands.

Well, my dear friend, if they're out of your hands, then it's time to stop worrying about them and to take steps to minimalise impact. Remember the old adage; "grant me the serenity to accept the things i cannot change."

I'm late on this, but OH MAN do I agree with you on Toby Keith. Our weight lifting teachers are big farmer republican coaches, meaning they play country music boasting about how much better we are than everyone else and how we could totally kick another country's metaphorical ass. Glad to see someone agrees with me about that song.
