This is how reclaiming works.

If I, as a woman, decide to say 'I'm a bitch', it is within my right. Since this is a word that has been used to try and hurt me, describe me in a negative way and deminish my value as a human being, it's within my right. By calling myself a bitch, I'm taking away YOUR power over the word as long as it does apply to me.

I can call myself a bitch. I can call myself cunt.

Despite me being a woman of color, I'm not black, so I cannot call myself with the n word because it's not my pain to reclaim. The n word does not mean anything personal towards me or my family. It's not my word to reclaim.

Everything clear up to this point? Now, let's move it a little more.

If you, person, choose to use f*ggot as a way to describe a queer male person? You're using homophobic language against said person (or character). Even in the case that you are queer yourself, you don't have the right to reclaim words for others. The only IFFY way this could be done is if you'd be saying 'this character/person is a f*ggot like me' and even in that case it's iffy depending on how you continue your next statement.

Using homophobic language? Really not cool. And it's the surest way I'll have to block your ass.
