Because haters will hate.

Kate Bishop/Clint Barton.

When it's a really rough night, Clint tells Kate that yeah, she can crash over the couch, only to have Kate snort at him, telling him that his couch is a back killer - it is - and she just grabs his sleeping bag and his good pillow to lay down and sleep on the floor.

(He had offered her the bed a number of times, saying that he'd take the couch, even with knowing about said back-killing, but Kate had rolled her eyes at him:

"I'm not kicking you out of your bed, Clint. And if you say it's because I'm a girl, I'm kicking you where it hurts".

After two years, he has, almost, stopped fighting, but he can't really just go to bed knowing that she's on the floor, so he pulls his own blankets and pillows to the floor on his room).

So, once they're done patching each other up, Kate using the shirt that, by now, she has practically claimed as her own, she pads towards the couch where Arrow is sleeping, kneeling in front of him.

"C'mere, Arrow, who's a good boy?"

Arrow loves Kate in a way that amuses Clint because, really, Arrow isn't that fond of people. Sure, he likes him, and he likes Steve because it's Steve and not liking Captain America means you're evil, probably, but that's pretty much it. He snarled at Jessica, at Bobbi, and even snarled at Natasha before Natasha gave him that look that made Arrow decide that the corner was much more interesting than the spy.

With Kate he is all slobbering kisses and dropping off to lay his head over her lap, leg kicking in the air as Kate's manicured fingernails scratch him just how he likes over the ears. Of course, Kate takes him, easily, to half of his vet appointments, and she also brings the fancy stuff to eat (although, that's true for him as well).

"You gonna spoil him, girly girl." but there's no heat there, none at all as he moves towards them, sits by his dog's side so that he can put a hand over his side.

"That's because he deserves it, don't you, Arrow? Who's a good dog? Who's the best dog in New York?"

(And Kate had said, once that she was more of a cat person.)

He can see the bandages wrapped over Kate's arm, the one that peeks through the collar of his... her shirt. The bruise that is already blooming over her face, where a strand of her still wet hair clings to her face, knows that she got a bad hit over her knee and she's still there, making faces at his dog, wearing what once upon a time was his shirt.

"Clint?"

She doesn't wear perfume these days, not really. But the scent of his shampoo is strangely intoxicating as he leans down to kiss her, briefly, before he can think about what he's doing.

Kate blinks at him, but there hasn't been a punch there so... "What was that for?"

He shrugs, then smiles at her. "You tell me."

Kate looks at him before she smiles, teasing.

"Well, you can sleep on the couch tonight."

(Only Arrow does. They decide to be kind to their backs and sleep over the bed.

Both of them).
