Heinz opens the door, standing on his tiptoes, eyes widenning when he sees them.
"Uncle Al!" the boy cries out, letting go of the door to instead throw himself at his arms. "Aunt Mei! Xiao Mei!"
"You have gotten so tall!" Mei squeals in delight, offering her hand to their nephew. "You're so handsome! Just like your uncle!"
Al chuckles, turning to look towards his wife, who looks completely unrepentant. "Mei..."
"Mommy! Daddy! Uncle Al and auntie Mei are here!"
"I heard you before, Heinz," Winry says, eight months pregnant, a hand to the swell on her belly.
"Winry, you look--"
"If you say 'huge' I will break your kneecaps," Winry threatens, even as Heinz scrambles to his shoulders, trying to catch Xiao Mei.
Al hugs her carefully, laughing, shaking his head.
"I was going to say 'beautiful'."
Winry sighs even as she laughs. Al catches her rolling her eyes as he let's go, Winry turning to hug Mei, who's laughing as well. "I married the wrong brother."
"I heard that," Edward grunts, wiping his hands. Heinz squirms on his shoulders until Al puts him down, and then the boy runs towards his father, who lifts him up with that easiness that practice brings. Ed grins as he offers his hand, Heinz looking as if he was the happiest little boy in all the world. "About time you came here, Al. You're gonna help me finish the baby's crib, right?"
Al laughs, looking at (part of) his family and he smiles, nodding. "It's good to be back."
