SPOILERS FOR THE EP, OBVIOUSLY.
- I was expecting something to actually prove that the Witch Hunter was a sorcerer himself, sort of like that man in the first season with the burnt face. I'm... not exactly sure if it's better or not that he wasn't.
- DADDY GAIUS. Oh, how I love Gaius. If only I could actually believe he's not doomed to tragically die one of these days... ;;
- I love how this season is making sure people realize that for all that Uther is a tyrant, he is not a 1930's black mustach evil laughing caricature of an evil man. He is an extremely flawed man who has made a thousand mistakes due to his fear and pain and yes, even hate, but he is not inherently bad. Have I mentioned how much I really really like Uther? He's an idiot! But... he's a lovable idiot.
- GWEN. I HAD MISSED GWEN BEING AN ACTIVE PART OF THE SHOW. Also, her friendship with Merlin. One of the things I had missed the most during this season was the fact that with all the Arthur/Gwen, Merlin and Gwen hadn't even talked on scene.
- goddammit episode, I already shipped Gaius and Uther, you didn't have to make it worse.
- GOD, ARTHUR, sometimes I want to slap you around with a big trout, but sometimes you are just so... Arthur with your justice and wanting to do what's right and your big damn bleeding heart and.
- You know Merlin is going to be a Great Wizard, he already has the double sided morale that goes with the job.
- I'm sure this is probably just me, but the whole 'I saw a wizard throwing up great green slimmy things!' Made me think about Howl Pendragon from Diana Wynne Jones' 'Howl's Moving Castle'. Anyone else?
- Also? OMG, NEXT EPISODE SEEMS SO GOOD.
