Wondering if I should pre-wash embroidery thread
I just received my parcel from Eterna Silks - lots of lovely stranded silk floss. Yay - I can now start my insane embroidery project!
But before I do that, I wonder if I should pre-wash the thread before using it to prevent colour running? Only one thread is a bright red, but there are quite deep blues too. The finished item is not intended to be washed at all (it will have enough metal thread emroidery on it to make washing very unwise), so maybe pre-washing is unnecessary. Hmmm.
Any opinions?
