I am so sick of people asking me "Is Melbourne or Sydney better"....
I love both. Wholeheartedly.
I jumped on a train to Sydney from Melbourne; I decided to go at 6:30pm and was on a train by 7:30pm.
Melbourne has been amazing; but to come home to a place like Sydney- you begin to experience it almost through the eyes of a tourist... and it is so easy to understand that awestruck nature that comes over people when you take them on the ferry from Circular Quay to Manly.
In one weekend- I have spent the most amazing Saturday at Manly, shopped my little heart out (with a spend limit) in Surry Hills... in those wonderful stores that sell such fantastic clothing that my friends decide "it must be from Melbourne" but of course are those divine stores only in Sydney and enjoyed my cheap Thai in Newtown and a night at the Dendy and Madam Fling Flong and the walk through the majestic grounds of Sydney University at night (I'm sure this is far, far more enjoyed by outside students than those who attend).
Today began with a early breakfast in Balmain to beat that insane Mothers Day rush, a walk all the way up Darling Street and again through the Sydney University Design Campus. A quick train trip past the Hawksbury River to the Central Coast and Avoca to see my extremely excited Father and then a wonderful Sunday night at the pub in Gladesville with my closest 4 friends.
That sudden decision to get on that train on Friday night- is THE best decision I have made in a long time. I'm buzzing, inspired, in love with life, joyous, passionate and planning... Life in Melbourne is fabulous and life back here was suddenly fabulous.
Isn't it the best feeling when you feel like something in the universe is working in your favor?
