I had never been to the All Night Egg Plant, a local restaurant specializing in breakfast foods. First of all, the name is a misnomer. It is NOT open all night. It also does NOT serve eggplant.
Today I wanted to go to Doc's (our all-night diner/dive) at around 10 PM. Sam came home from work and I asked her if we could go. She said that with the snow, the roads were awful, and it was best to not go. But the idea of pancakes (the Egg Plant's specialty) had gotten lodged into my brain!!
Well, I decided to make my own pancakes here in the apartment. Little did I know, the milk had spoiled! So much for that! I was desperate. I kept asking if the snow was "letting up."
Finally I guess I wore Sam doen because she agreed to go to the Egg Plant (and Price Chopper--our 24-hour grocery store--as well). When we walked in, the lady informed us that they were closing in 20 mins. (It was 20 to Midnight.) I was like, "We can eat fast!"
I ordered the "Chunky Monkey" pancakes: the pancake batter contains bananas, walnuts, and chocolate chips! So good! But I had to eat so fast, because I didn't want the waitress and cook to have to stay late in the bad weather on account of us! The pancakes were great! It was too bad I couldn't really eat slow and enjoy them... Someday I will return to the Egg Plant when I can really sit there and enjoy myself.
At Price Chopper, I got fresh milk. (Yay!) I also got hair elastics. Mind you, I bouth them a few weeks ago, and now I can't find them. I've looked all over. I must have accidentally thrown them away!
That was my eventful middle-o-the-night. (I should mention that I wrote a paper earlier today, and put in a lot of time and work on Relay For Life. I felt so productive!)
Another big thing is, my cousin is getting married! It's my cousin Grantly, who is YOUNGER than I am. He is 20. He has been seeing this girl all through high school and college too. They are getting married in August. (Seems a little speedy to me. I wondered if it was a shotgun wedding! Apparently not.) I wouldn't want to be married while in college. But whatever floats your boat!
