Hair update.

Remember my hair issues? I grew my hair out long for Halloween because I was going to dye it red to be Ginger from "Gilligan's Island." Anyway, I was all set to do so until I realized that I am now making part-time wages, and soon to be looking for work (more on that later). To get my dark hair red, it would be a two-process color, and would therefore be expensive -- not only to get on the first time, but to also maintain. I wouldn't mind it if I had a full time job during this time, but now is just not a good moment for me to be THAT experimental.

SO -- for Halloween I am going to wear the red wig I have, or seek out a better one.

ALSO recently, about THREE friends separately told me that they liked my hair long. I was getting geared up to get it short once more, but long actually is quite different for me. It is time that I go to my salon, Arrojo Studio, and have my hair cut into a long style. (Currently it is just the grown-out version of a short cut I got earlier this year.) I will talk to Chuck tomorrow, and he will make the magic happen!

ALSO, I decided to get highlights for the fun of it. I was really getting excited to get the red, and it was actually disappointing when I realized it was not going to be something I could afford. Highlights will be totally new to me, and I think it will make me feel like I am doing something new and fun without breaking the bank (I'm only getting 1/2 of my hair highlighted, and I am going to a more inexpensive colorist).

So that is my hair update. I'll try to take a before and after photo! I'm excited to try something new.

I really wanted to get my new 'do before Friday -- so it really worked out well that I can go tomorrow. Friday is my "farewell" party at the Brooklyn Museum and I wanted to look cute at it because I am sure we will take some photos. Dude. Sometimes I'm really vain.

A new person has been hired to fill my position here at the Museum. That's the news, as of... 30 minutes ago! I think this means my last day of part-time hours is Halloween. It will be a sad day, leaving the Museum, but I am looking forward to devoting more energy and time to student teaching. I will also be looking for part time work as soon as early November!
