Well, as much as I was dreading getting back into the school vibe, good things are happening, so I have been in a good mood!
First of all, I have gotten plenty of sleep the past two nights. That makes so much difference in how I percieve my day. Also, the weather is BEAUTIFUL! Sunny and warm!
Yesterday, I had tap. The class is almost over (tears!). But yesterday marked the beginning of the "optional" portion of the class, during which we are doing "fun" stuff. The teacher has choreographed a routine, which is super fun so far! At one point, we do 12 counts of a move called the Train, in which everyone alternates kicking front, back, front back... clicking your tap to the tap of the person in front of you. Very cool.
Also yesterday, I recieved an e-mail from the "Director of Donor Relations" about a Memorial Scholarship I received. Apparently the couple who started the scholarship in memory of their son enjoyed my thank-you note, and want to meet me in person over lunch! That will be very cool.
Today in American Orientalism we got our midterm exams back. The professor wrote the grading scale up on the board, as well as the distribution of how many people got each grade (A, 94-100, 1 person; A-, 90-93, 4 people, etc...). Well, wouldn't you know?! I got a 97! I was the only one to get a solid A! Hooray! Professor Braddock says, "Allison, Superb effort! keep up the good work!"
After class, I donated blood. That always makes me feel great. I was done in under an hour, and the actual blood donating took only seven minutes! The Greek Life newspaper, Hermes, took pictures of me (with my permission of course) donating blood. I will be famous! (I should have mentioned that just before I left for Spring Break, my Letter to the Editor was published in the Daily Orange. It was about the Drag Show.) I am ALL OVER the media!!
Then, when I checked the Relay For Life website, I saw that there are now 31 teams registered! We have met AND EXCEEDED our goal of 30! Plus, there are more teams about to register! And... I have exceeded my own personal goal of raising $300... I am now up to $325. But I am not going to stop there! I am going to see how much more I can do! If you, dear reader, have not sponsored me yet and would like to... LET ME KNOW!!
Wooo! Things are going really well in my little neck of the woods!!
