AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
Other than that, it's just been another average double shift at OMSI; ridiculously cute children, obnoxious adults, origami. Today's award for Children So Darn Cute I Have Hope For The Human Race: little girl named Simone who wandered on up to the front desk out of the blue and regaled us with stories about her day. Today's award for Adults Who Make Me Lose Hope In Humanity: the guy dressed as an apostle. Amazing.
I've been pleasantly busy all week long, they're really putting me to work! The only constructive thing I've done with what little free time I've had was go to the caucus last week. Mom and Dad (those old saucy revolutionaries) rallied as many neighbors as they could, and everybody crammed into the tiny elementary school lunch room where it was held. Picture no elbow-room, people standing on the little plastic tables to give tearful speeches 'bout why their person is the one to root for, and noise so loud you can't think, and you've pretty much summed it up. On the one hand I couldn't help but think wow, how antiquated. This process simply does not translate in today's world. I can understand why electing delegates to carry your opinion to the county seat was necessary back in the day when the whole town gathered around and people said, "well Zacharia is a decent fellow, and he has the fastest horse so he can travel the 30 miles to vote." But is this really necessary when one-man-one-vote is no longer a logistical nightmare? I live for the day when we can axe the electoral college, I tell ya.
Still, it was nice seeing so many of my neighbors involved. There were lots of people younger even that me there, and that was awesome beyond expression.
Poor Tony, he feels so left out of the whole process. He figured out back when he was ten years old that when he turned 18, he will be one week too late to vote in that year's elections. It has been a constant chip in his shoulder ever since, and it's just getting worse as the election crunch draws nearer.
