I keep holding off on updating, hoping that something awesome will happen so I'm not just whining and spewing invectives in my little corner of the internet. Alas, nothing so amazing has happened yet.
Last week it looked like we were going to FINALLY find a housemate, but nothing happened. I'm going insane over this. We even let one really awesome girl spend the night JUST TO BE SURE that she would like the room, but it turned out to be too noisy for her. We interviewed another guy who also seemed like a nice, sane housemate, but he seemed to be kind of high energy. Kristen just wasn't comfortable around him, and far be it from me to force her to live with someone that creeped her out. Still, goddamnit! We are going to have to settle for somebody, and soon. We can't afford to be all this picky for another month.
I do have some potential good news, though I don't want to speculate too much. The Switchboard position here at OMSI is going to open up pretty soon. So far three of the folks in charge have asked me if I'm applying for it. They're already training me how to record messages, and the position hasn't even been posted yet! I've gotten my hopes up about OMSI positions before only to be disappointed, so I'm just trying to be cautiously hopeful. I can see the fact that I might get accepted to school and have to leave in sixth months as being a huge road block. Still, better pay, regular nine to five hours, and weekends off? Hell yes, I'm applying!
And one final thing:
I fucking love hummingbirds, you don't even know! (I would also like to add that since I discovered that PBS has shows online, my productivity has gone down the tubes).
