Everyone's been through that devestating mindstate of not being good enough for whatever reason, especially for another person. Being replaced like a dead battery is everyone's worst fear, especially if the sparks are still flying for the one being replaced. Being part of a marriage may not be that great after all, especially knowing everytime your future partner kisses me goodbye and walks out the front door to "work", the destination may never be what you've been told; it's all a trick, just to see if you're really listening.
I've learned that being part of a relationship means catering to your partner's every demand. Whether it's buying them two brand new phones they've been asking for, or cancelling all your saturday plans to nurse him/her back to health when they're 'dying' of the influenza. This keeps them interested, knowing there's something always in store for them from you, making them want more. Without attention grabbers and amusement, why wouldn't they have a reason to leave you? Tsk Tsk Tsk. Also, what's a relationship without sex? You can't have a healthy relationship without sex! Submitting to your partner's needs, means pleasing any desire they crave, especially sexual. If they begin talking about being in "the mood", you know what to do! Otherwise, they'll get their services elsewhere. Finally, you're never 'officially' in the relationship, unless a starting date is set in stone. However, metaphorically speaking, this date needs a tombstone ending. With every beginning, comes an end - the middle just being the simple dash: beginning date, dash, ending date - that's routine. That ending date is, again, determined on how well you pamper and provide for your partner. Otherwise, that ending date will come sooner than you had 'hoped'.
Being replaced because you weren't good enough to fulfill these demands is a tug at the heartstrings. But knowing you were better than they asked of you to be, and still got replaced outright, is heartstring slaughter. It's a loss not by the victim, but by the replacer; you weren't "good enough" for them, but you were far better than anyone they can find. Maybe this just means they still don't know exactly what they're looking for, but why look in all the wrong places? Or, maybe it was just a simple mistake on their part. Unfortunately, no one can ever be sure until after the moment passes, and all new starting dates are set in cement. Until then, the replaced sit idle within unmotivated optimism, waiting for the next train to reality to pass.
Being replaced is one more step toward complete devastation, two steps back from happiness, and another fall deep into love.
