It's going to take forever to finish because it has created a monster on the very first prompt I decided to write on.
In
the poll (and if you haven't seen that yet, go ahead and put in your $0.02), I asked for what you wanted to read about, and
ribby said the Northmen of Rhovanion, which was already (luckily) on
the list.
So I started writing on... Friday morning, I think, and went home for the weekend.
It is lucky that I can bring my computer home now, because I needed to write more.
So I did.
And am.
And will continue to do so until the story feels right.
Herein is the point of this post:
I am going to need a beta.
No canon-familiarity requirements (I've got my Silm and ROTK planted on my desk, so I've got that covered), just someone (or several people) who can look this over and make sure it sounds good (especially with the godawfully weird second person).
Story Stats
-It's about the Northmen of Rhovanion (not telling anymore so as not to spoil it for the flist... They're ancestors of the Rohirrim, if that helps, but I'm making trying to make the culture fairly different).
-It's written in second person present tense (DEAR GOD WHY, AS I HAVE NEVER WRITTEN SECOND PERSON BEFORE?!).
-It's 1500 words and growing, and there are a bunch of sections that I haven't written yet.
-It's outlined, so I know the gist of what's going to happen.
-It's going to be a one-chapter fic. Damn it. And I was so sure it was going to be just one long chapter when I wrote this... I reorganized it, so five chapters.
-I have no idea if it's good or crap.
Interested? Please comment!
I don't know when it'll be ready for revision, but I tend to get overexcited and go "OMG PLZ READ!", so fairly soon, even for just some preliminary comments.
