Baby Knitting!

Still no baby. I've seen pictures of Becky and boy does she look tired. Poor thing. Here's to hoping for a Halloween baby!

I've got my knitting all wrapped and packaged to go--just need to stop by the UPS store on the way home to send it off. :)

Oh I think that is *lovely.* It makes me want a blanket, too. It looks awesome. How long did it take you to learn to knit?

Not too long, but it was a long time ago. My aunts taught me when I was very little. I made a couple terrible pot holders and didn't do it again for years. Then when I got my appendix out several years back I was lying around with nothing to do, got the Stitch and Bitch book, and taught my self all over again. I've never done anything more complicated than flat knitting though. Scarves, blankets, etc. The blanket took about 6 weeks (it's actually a super easy pattern and helps with practice of the basics).

I just got some yarn for my first pair of socks though. Exciting! We'll see how that goes. LOL.

It's beautiful! It looks so soft and warm :) It'll soon become baby's favorite, I can tell. :p

That is gorgeous, Allison! I'm sure mom-to-be and baby are going to love it!

Isn't Stitch n Bitch awesome? I've only just taught myself to knit and purl with it, but it makes everything seem doable.

I like the illustrations a lot. They really helped me with remembering the basics again.

Truth be told though when I had to fix some mistakes I made in this I needed to go online to find some videos to make things a more clear. You'd be surprised how many good how-to videos for knitting are on youtube!

I never, EVER advocate using Nice Yarn for baby/kid stuff--how impractical can you get? Unless you actually DON'T want your gift to be used. You can get yarn that looks awesome AND is washable, like you did. Good call. Tis very lovely and I'm sure will be totes appreciated!
