ahh... everything is drawing to a close. i hate the anticipation that builds up the last week or two of the quarter. it's just overwhelming to no end. there's so much to do and so much expected of you in classes... not to mention work, personal life, and being sick. i just feel like no matter how hard i'm pushing, the current of life is pushing against me even harder. but i've reached the top of the hill. everything from here on out is pretty much smooth sailing. i have a two-part phonics final this thursday and next wednesday. i'm not worried. probably will study wednesday morning for that part. but that'd be about it. not worried. the only bad thing i have left is my history of math final on thursday. ai yi yi. talk about pulling teeth. that class is hard. so i actually have to study for that one... but i figure i'll do a little bit every day until then and i should be good to go. :) rrrright.

good news today though. i had my last day of eng 202 which is critical approaches to poetry w/ heaton. he's retiring after this quarter. and he's honestly amazing. i hate poetry and i hate trying to understand it... but just listening to him talk about stuff is really really interesting. like the topics the poems brought up and then him giving his opinions and stories... it's just really worth the 4 hrs a week i spent in the class. a lot of ppl didn't even go to class. there were about 8 of us that were always there. and well... it paid off. he gave us back our papers and was like "stay after class please". i was like "great, he's gonna rip me b/c my interpretation was waaaay off". wrong! he was like "you are completely exempt from the final. you'll receive an A in the class. it was nice having you in my class." ha ha ha. that is glorious. b/c frankly the idea of remembering 14 more poems, titles, and authors and then writing the essays on monday at 8 am really wasn't too appealing. so i'll take my A and run with it. he's just amazing. haha i've never really felt a personal connection to a prof before, but he made me like him. i'm dying with this sickness i have and he's the only prof i've known to pull me aside and ask if i was ok and tell me to take care of myself and then the next class actually remember and ask if i was feeling better. it's just the little things like that that make you realize you're not just a number and not just receiving grades. there are some profs here for more than that... and i genuinely believe he's one of them. i didn't want to take his class b/c i knew he was retiring and i heard he was really difficult... but wow. it was worth it.

so i'm done with that class, and my fiction class b/c i turned in my paper today. we were watching a movie in class today from 12-2 but i really didn't want to sit there, so i told her i had been sick and couldn't stop coughing and didn't want to bug ppl with it when they were trying to watch a movie. so then she was like "you know you were my best student, don't you?? are you an english major??" haha it's so weird. i do really well in my english classes but i detest english. hate it with a passion. but i guess at least i'm good at it... so 2 classes down... 2 to go.

speaking of sickness... i am feeling better. sorta. i can at least talk and sound half-way normal to myself again. but there's still the lovely cough with snot in my throat. so glamorous. i wouldn't wish it upon anyone. talk about miserable. luckily i have all day today to rest and feel better. i slept from 11pm to 5 pm yesterday except from about 7:30-9 when i tried to go to phonics and 11-1 when my dad was here. sleep is a good cure i'm beginning to believe. not to mention i just love sleep.

so after class today i went to cici's to talk to mike. i think it's gonna be ok. he was like "you know, they're gone. i can't lose my best workers b/c of some lowlifes making my work place an unsafe environment. this is supposed to be a place where you can come and feel safe and have fun." so i'm still selling pizza. yeehaw. but i did get a new shirt out of it. and it's the right size. so no more HUGE or tiny shirts. :) that's about the only thing good to come out of it. no raise. but that's alright b/c i already make like 75 cents more than everyone else that works there. i didn't want to quit i just couldn't deal w/ it. the money is nice. i have to admit. it pays for my plane tickets to see my boy! :) which might i add is a week from friday!!!!!! :) happy alli!

so... i wish you all the best of luck this week and next dealing w/ everything and finals. and just take it one day at a time. we'll make it... i promise. :) love ya all!
