I drove for about eleven hours yesterday, and that's minus all the pit stops and lunch and dinner. I think that's the longest I've ever driven in one day, and I really feel it in my right leg, ahaha.

I left the house around 11:57 to pick up Chrissy, and then we ended up waiting outside Tina's house for about ten minutes because she was doing her hair. I was supposed to reach Belleville by 12:30, but that's about the time we left Jersey City. We arrived in Belleville around 12:50, picked up Eric, and then left for West Orange. The drive wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be - about twenty minutes to get there - but we were detoured out of the area by traffic patrol for some odd reason. Thinking something was wrong, we left the car at the McDonald's parking lot across the highway and then walked back, hoping we'd get some explanation. Except when we got there, traffic patrol officers were directing cars into the parking lot! I don't get it. Maybe they just didn't like us. x)

We walked through the park entrance gates only to be completely confused, because the employees were cheerfully ushering us in and as soon as we went past the gates, I wondered aloud, "Why didn't we pay the entrance fee?"

Turns out that yesterday was Turtleback Zoo's grand reopening because it's been under renovation for apparently quite some time. Consequently, not a lot of exhibits were open, but it was still enjoyable - and hey, free! We ambled about in search of food only to find ourselves checking out the available exhibits because we couldn't locate any food vendors.

Mostly all of the animals were lazy because it was hot and humid.

Huge piggy piggy.

No Ericas were harmed during the taking of this picture.

Sleepy wolf.

Stray chipmunk!

Babies aren't part of the exhibit! DDD:

Two territorial males going at it.

Lucky gator!

This was really cute and endearing.

Bohaha, it's giving me the evil eye.

We left the zoo around 3:30 because three out of four of us were getting hungry (and this was including me), so we drove out to Mitsuwa since Eric's never been there before. We ate lunch at Kayaba and then I found Danjyu and I just chilled with him for a bit. Afterwards, we went to Liberty State Park. We skipped rocks (or in my case, attempted to and failed horribly) and I hated Eric in that moment because he could, ahaha. I was getting depressed watching him skip stones so easily, so I suggested we walk around the park area. Chrissy and Eric separated from Tina and I and we bought chocolate ice cream, which didn't fail to drip all over me because I made the smart choice of getting warm chocolate syrup drizzled over it. Tina and I walked along the boardwalk and talked for a long while, and then we decided to wait in the car for Chrissy and Eric. They came by sometime later, Chrissy lunging at Tina's window and startling the both of us.

I picked up Gil because we decided that we were going to drink tonight, and it'd just be better if he came along so that we wouldn't have to make too many pit stops (which we did end up doing anyway, because we're way too spontaneous to stick to a plan). I drove to Bayonne because Tina wanted to buy stuff at Mandee's, but it was closed by the time we'd arrived. Chrissy was pointing out all of the places she was familiar with growing up to Eric, heheh. Tina decided she was going to go home because she had plans early the following day (which happens to be today). I didn't really want to go home yet, so I drove to the small dog park by the waterfront downtown. Chrissy and Eric separated from Gil and I to have some more alone time together, and then Gil and I just walked around the park and around the block several times, and talked, and acted stupid as usual. We ate the rest of my day trip junk food whilst sitting on the ledge of my trunk. Candace ended up meeting us there and she attacked me from behind, clapping her hand over my face just as I was taking a pull of my cigarette. Uh, let's just say there's a burn mark in the middle of her palm now. --;

"I thought those were your eyes!"

"My eyes glow orange, Candace?!"

We introduced Candace to Eric, and then we decided to drive him home because it was getting late. We went to Malibu Diner afterwards because Chrissy was hungry and upset. I wasn't all that hungry, so I ordered a chocolate milkshake and a chocolate cheesecake. I paid for everyone's meals because I was feeling generous, heheh. I took Candace home and then drove to Gil's house to pick up our good friends Georgi and Jack. I dropped off Chrissy, giving her a big hug before she left because she was leaving for Virginia the following day (which happens to be today, and she's already gone). She won't be back until the beginning of July. :(

Gil and I ended up looking for cigarettes at two in the morning, failing miserably on the first and second tries and the third was the charm, except the cashier was taking his sweet time hitting on me. He looked at my license and said matter-of-factly, "I'm only eight years older than you, you know." To which I shifted uncomfortably and muttered, "Um!" We left Walgreens and then headed to my house. I found parking a block away, and Gil put Georgi and Jack in a plastic bag because we are underage and were carrying around open liquor in the middle of the night (which happens to be the NJPD's favorite time of day).

I allowed Gil to put make-up on me because he's just such a sad soul and I am sad for him, ahaha. Afterwards, we got buzzed on our drinks. I mixed lemonade, iced tea, and coke with a shot and a half of Jack, while Gil just wanted to get trashed and drank a cup of Jack and coke and then had another of lemonade and Georgi. After that and three shots of vodka and one last shot of whiskey, well, he was pretty much gone and had forgotten he was gay. The rest of the night was spent keeping Gil's hands off of me and telling him that I couldn't kiss him because he's my friend and he's gay and he's my gay friend and he respects me, right? And then he kept bothering me about it, so I put his hands in a lock and gave him a tap kiss before rolling over and feigning sleep - only for him to complain that he had wanted tongue! Freaking boy. I told him I didn't want a kiss or tongue, to which he replied, "Well, your cousin did." Then I smacked him and told him that I wasn't like my cousin. --; And then I proceeded to ignore him, which turned out to be effective because he left the bed to go online and then I fell asleep shortly afterward.

We woke up less than four hours later and it was really awkward because I don't know if he remembered anything. I went on the computer and listened to music while he took a crap in the bathroom. I was just telling Candace about what had happened the night before when Gil walked into my room and said, "Erica, I'm sorry." I just started making fun of him while half-telling him what he'd done, and it was a bit awkward at first but we got over it. :P I ordered pizza and a Philly cheese steak, and we told each other stories at the top of our heads while waiting for our food to arrive. Turns out we weren't as sober as we thought, ahaha. We ate and then chilled for a bit, and then his aunt picked him up around two. I moved my car for tomorrow's street cleaning and now I'm here. I intend to just relax today, because I think the whiskey is still in my system. --;
