I talked to the guy at Simplicity yesterday when I was purchasing my new kicks, and found out that Canton is getting a skatepark.
The park is going to be on Michigan Avenue where the old deck hockey place used to be. Rumor has it it's going to be similar to the "skate plaza" design developed by Rob Dyrdek, which means the layout will borrow ideas from numerous street spots skated around the world and apply them in a single, enclosed area. Dyrdek's park in Kettering, Ohio began construction this month, and will be the first skate facility of it's kind anywhere in the world; the Simplicity park is set to be open by June, so we can expect it to be the second. The midwest is blowin up!
