- CHARACTER INFORMATION
NAME: Carrietta "Carrie" White
CODENAME: n/a
SERIES/SOURCE: Carrie
AGE: 17
GENDER: Female
OCCUPATION: Student

BACKGROUND: Carrie is the only child of Ralph and Margaret White. Her conception in its own right was a complete accident; the Whites did not believe in sexual acts of any kind, even for copulation purposes. However, Ralph would often get drunk and go to roadhouses. One night after such an occasion, he came home and coerced Margaret into having sex with him. Margaret was disgusted with herself for enjoying it.

Soon after Carrie's birth, Ralph left his wife and daughter. Margaret never completely stopped blaming Carrie for this. It was especially evident in her cold treatment of her daughter. Margaret, a religious fanatic, believed most modern things to be evil. She especially viewed females as vile seductresses of men, and was repulsed by her daughter's blossoming maturity.

Carrie, forced to wear dowdy clothes and not allowed to do most things normal teens adore, was outcast at school. What was worse, though, was that she had no one to talk to about her changing body. She had no frame of reference, and when she started her period at the extremely late age of 17, she was frightened and thought she was dying. It started in the gym showers, and she ran out to the other girls to ask for help. Incredulous and filled with loathing at her lack of knowledge, the girls mocked her and threw feminine hygiene products at her until she was huddled in a corner. Luckily, a kindly teacher named Coach Collins came to her rescue. When the two reported the incident to the principal, he seemed uncaring and couldn't even remember Carrie's name. In anger, Carrie awakened her mutant abilities in the form of moving the principal's ashtray off his desk.

Realizing that there really was something different about her, Carrie began to test her powers. She managed to open and close doors with her mind as well as break and reassemble mirrors. At first, she thought it was all a miracle, but she began to do research and figure out the truth: she was a mutant.

In her research, she found Xavier Institute and desperately wanted to go. However, she knew she would be unable to get her mother to agree. This lead Carrie to the end of her rope. Tired of the physical and verbal abuse her mother put her through in addition to the taunts at school, she decided to run away.
PERSONALITY: Carrie is mousy. This is the best word to describe her. All her life, she's been bullied and put down by her mother and peers. Because of this she has become quiet and introverted. The only time she speaks for long periods of time is in class. She adores fiction and poetry, and will talk about them.

However, were you to get to know Carrie, you would realize she is a sharp and pleasant young woman. Despite her naivety, she has an underlying sense of self-preservation. This prevents her from making friends easily, due to her preferring to run away than be hurt. But if someone is able to prove him or herself to be a good person with kind intentions, Carrie cherishes them in a way most people wouldn't.
APPEARANCE: Everything about Carrie is pale. Her skin is pale with freckles all over. Her hair is a pale straw color and falls limp in her face, and her eyes are a pale, watery blue and very very large.

She's naturally skinny, but with a slight hint of not being fed enough. This is only made worse by her clothing. Everything she owns is at least two times too big and puritanical.
POWERS: Telekinesis. She can kill you move things with her mind. Whooo.

ANYTHING ELSE?: No.

- RP SAMPLES
First-person sample: Dear Mun sample
Third-person sample: Carrie was already getting those chills, and she had only just opened her new textbook. But it was understandable. It was a science textbook. She had never had one before.

Sure, it looked the same as the other subjects' texts: a bunch of pages shoved in between to shiny cardboard slices. It smelled the same. But Carrie knew. She knew what lurked in these chapters was something she was told to never look at. The chills of doing something forbidden and bad shook her thin frame. Mama said she was never to use the wicked science books. They were filled with the devil's lies. She wasn't even to sit in class during the science hour.

Still, Mama wasn't here. Not at this new school, and they would never tell. She could see what the devil's lies really were.

She bit the bullet. Turning to the index, she looked for the taboo section. There it was. She gulped. Here goes everything.

'The Theory of Evolution.' She stared at the black letters on white paper. Read it again. 'The. Theory. Of. Evolution.' It just rolled off her tongue. Something that sounded like that couldn't be all bad.

She began reading, and didn't stop. She read like the book was water and she was a thirsty man in an endless dune of sand. Every word held a new mystery, and it was so bad. So bad. She shouldn't be doing it, but she couldn't stop. She had to know everything about this new world.

O brave new world! That has such people in it!

That was a Shakespeare quote. The Tempest. She wasn't supposed to be in class when they read Shakespeare, because he was vulgar and blasphemous. Mama's words, not Carrie's. Carrie loved Shakespeare, and this science book was just as majestic as anything the bard had ever written. As she finished the chapter, a little smile was on her face.

It had to be God's work. No way the devil's lies would be this intricate.
