gay marriage and more!

Hey! I’m so honored that you guys decided to reply promptly to my diary. I’m going to prove Amy wrong and say that this is totally not bull and I’m committed to seeing this new innovation of my diary to the fullest. I’m going to go and answer the plethora of questions that you so nicely posted to my previous entry. Here goes…enjoy!

what’s your opinion on gay marriage

Well, first of all, I have to say that I’m totally for it. My term for marriage is that it means two people participating in a ceremony that bonds their loved union together. No sexual preference involved, and it shouldn’t be that way as well. I believe strongly in the separation of state and church and grr at Bush for totally ignoring that very important phrase in our oh so glorious history. My pissing began when I found out that the Presidential inauguration was based on the bible and said ‘god’ throughout. Anyway, back to the point. I must say that I’m actually happy that different states around the country are actually listening to gay people’s wishes and protests and allowing gay marriage to be legalized. States like Massachusetts, California, and Oregon should be recognized for their excellent work. How about Washington? Hmm…I happen to know that there’s a huge contingent of gay people in Seattle, I mean, I see them all the time on Broadway. Also, the majority of the ASL interpreting world is gay or lesbian, and we have a gay interpreter here at Roosevelt. What I’m saying is that it’s not so taboo here as some other states *coughmidwestcough* and I guess the state government is just a little afraid to legalize it. Still, it should be legalized in the first place. Why should people make a big deal out of it? Another point I must make is that I live next door to a lesbian couple. They have a beautiful 6-year-old girl with orange locks and they have two rabbits as pets. They’re a prominent figure(s) in our neighborhood and host a lot of impromptu potlucks. I remember that I went to their “commitment ceremony” in Discovery Park and actually discovered (pardon the pun) that gay people desire to be treated as fairly as all the other couples out there. I remember Dolly Parton, the singer, said something about this, “Gay marriage should be allowed cuz they should be allowed to suffer the same as married couples.” That’s funny, yet true. They’re normal people like us, same with Deaf people. We’re both minorities in this political world.

Also, I must say this. It’s connected to gay people, but not to marriage. I was talking with my friend from Garfield, Kyle Lam, and of course we were arguing about who goes to the superior school. He finally came up with a retort that hit home. He said that Garfield’s Purple and White (PAW) and Roosevelt’s Green and Yellow (GAY). I mean…come on, screw you, nobody could go as low as that, not even you.

who would you vote for if you could-why would you vote for george w. bush, even if you wouldn’t

I would definitely vote for the democratic ticket. I personally do not care about the presidential candidates inside the party themselves. I’m a solid democratic, and solidly hate the Shrub, as my family calls Bush. Teehee. I encourage you guys to call him Shrub as well, because he IS Bush Junior…and I want everybody to demoralize his unfortunate name. Anyway, I would vote for the democratic ticket definitely. And in response to Jos’s question (the second one). Um. I can’t think of any reason why I would vote for bush. He’s so stupid *coughwmdcough* and he’s careless and…I dunno. I guess the only good thing about him is that he’ll only last a term, seeing the way things are going now.

what is your favorite color (and why)

I added the second question, because, come on people…I’m not going to just say yellow, that’s it. I say yellow is my favorite color because it’s bright and represents how bright I am. Oh, that’s full of bull, you say. I agree, heh. Really, it’s my favorite color because it’s the only color that’s actually bright, and people associate it with the sun, light, and just about everything. The fact that one of RHS’s colors is yellow helps as well. I don’t like dark dreary colors (even green!) and I can stand normal blue and the colors on the lighter side of the rainbow, but yellow’s the first one.

what’s your stance on french toast

i.love.french.toast. yes I know it’s french, and it has the word french in it, but I love it. My dad makes the most scrumptious ones ever. Huge slabs of bread dipped in some mixture and put on the grill on the oven, is just yummy. Also with maple syrup (from vermont!) and butter is just the ‘cherry on top.’ I’m not sure what you mean by “stance,” Nikita, but my stance on french toast is that it is totally not distasteful at all…it’s a delicious way to wake up in the morning.

what do you value most highly

er, I’m sorry. That’s too broad for me. Which object are you talking about? Which quality in one’s personality, which person do I value, which what?! Please post and clarify, thanks!

Ok…looking forward to your comments, and…remember, keep the QQQQQQ’s coming, and I’ll bring you the AAAAAA’s! Er, that was corny, but you got the idea. Also if you have any critique on my ramblings or the way I set it up or whatever, do tell. Thanks!
