Happy Flag Day

So, my dad has (once again) slapped Death in the face. He has had numerous close calls that have started pretty much since birth. Anyway, this new one is (I think) huge, but you probably won't hear about it in the news. I'm pretty sure my sequencing of events is all correct.

My dad had a flight for Phoenix today. While the plane was taxing, some airport worker decided to let everyone know that a large piece of something was on the runway and probably belonged to a plane. My dad was hoping that it belonged to his because, otherwise, some plane 10000 feet in the air was missing a piece. So the plane stops and a whole swarm of mechanics come over. First they say that they'll fix it. Then they say they can't fix it so they spent about 15 minutes debating. Oh yeah, its Northwest Airlines so they were just debating about what would be most cost effective. Some supervisor-esq people come over to the plane and look at it and talk. The pilot is meanwhile getting more and more frustrated. The passangers want some food so they ask to be let off the plane. The flight attendents say that they can't let them off the plane until the pilot says OK, BUT they do have some trailmix type food. Oh, nevermind, its $3.00 and no we cant give it to you and no we dont have enough for all of you.
The mechanics eventually figure out that the piece missing (that was indeed from my dad's plane) was located somewhere near the engine. So they look at the engine. Then (my dad was sitting on the side of the plane that this mass of people were at) they all point at a certain part of the engine. They get the pilot, he takes one look at whatever on earth was wrong with the freaking ENGINE of the airplane and tells everyone to get off the plane. So, if it wasnt for that random piece falling off and its being found before takeoff, who knows what would have happened? All in all, the passangers for that flight were sitting in that damn plane for 2 and a half hours and they didnt even get to Phoenix.

I might have a job. I'll have an interview this Tuesday so we'll see what happens.
