"Don't talk of dust and roses
Or should we powder our noses?
Don't live for last year's capers
Give me steel, give me steel, give me pulses unreal

He'll build a glass asylum
With just a hint of mayhem
He'll build a better whirlpool
We'll be living from sin, then we can really begin

Please savior, saviour, show us
Hear me, I'm graphically yours

Someone to claim us, someone to follow
Someone to shame us, some brave Apollo
Someone to fool us, someone like you

We want you Big Brother, Big Brother

I know you think you're awful square
But you made everyone and you've been every where
Lord, I think you'd overdose if you knew what's going down

Someone to claim us, someone to follow
Someone to shame us, some brave Apollo
Someone to fool us, someone like you
Someone to claim us, someone to follow
Someone to shame us, some brave Apollo
Someone to fool, someone like you
Someone to claim us, someone to follow
Someone to shame us, some brave Apollo
Someone to fool, someone like you

We want you Big Brother."

So I had a cool day yesterday. Went thrifting with Elsbeth - she got some more suit jackets to add to her collection, and I got a silky print shirt and a big stripey skirt that I'm really enjoying. We watched A Clockwork Orange (verdict: very, very cool movie, whether or not it's of any real social import), picked blackberries, then went to Arby's and Wal-Mart with Nick. Her brother picked up some Jim Beam and we had whiskey-and-cokes and watched A Hard Day's Night (verdict: BEATLES!).

We sat around in the driveway and smoked and talked and spilled our life stories until the sun started threatening to come up. I slept on her floor for six hours or so, then I came home and resumed watching The Godfather commentary. That movie raises serious consideration of nepotism - Francis Ford Coppola's sister and niece act in the movie, his father arranged the music, and his son helped choreograph that scene where Carlo beats up on Connie and they break dishes and stuff.

I got my information about academic team camp today. We leave on Tuesday morning, so if you guys wanna hang out with me you'd better do it SOON, 'cause as soon as I get back from camp I'm driving up to see University of Chicago and Noah, then going to University of Michigan, so it'll be over a week before I'm really in town.

I gotta find out if there's kickball tonight.

movies, the godfather, david bowie, clothes, music, smoking
