The little AU: Winter Hopes: Scale
slashfairyWinter, in the Northern Hemisphere, is about hidden things. Even in the tropics where there seems to be no change, no snow, no real shortness or lengthening, slow lengthening, of days, there is still work going on invisible to our eyes, man's eyes. On our scale it's about vacations being over, about school ( Read more... )

you're right, getting ready for this role must be different than any preparation he's done before, for other roles. the idea of the movie is so dark, and how he'll need to look and think - - it's scary.

and still, the guy is so excited about life, has so much passion, and so much support around him - - this has got to feel like a grand, hopeful adventure as well.

that's my story and i'm sticking to it ;)

I really like how you compare the differences in how nature marks the time of year and people; our concerns seem almost trivial in a way. :-)

it seems to me to be a matter of .. not comparing our two scales as absolute, but as ---- well, i tend to think in cones, not lines. so that what's a moment in nature's time is, measured in my time, hundreds of days- but that same event [of hundreds of my days] is only a moment to Nature. so really, it's only a moment, no matter what scale.

if that makes any sense?

to a red blood cell in my body, my body in its entirety is a universe.

scale is very interesting to me, and actually kind of calming. it lets me just be me, and go on about my business, rather nicely.
