HTGAWM - tonight's episode - feel free to ignore, I just need to vent
Yea, Tumblr, shut up. You can't cheat on someone you're not exclusive with. (With exception of breaking set rules in a negotiated open relationship, but this is obviously not relevant here.) Oliver TOTALLY overreacted like a little baby. Sorry, dude, you don't like being non-exclusive, make yourself clear. You don't say "I know we're not like actually a couple" only to then act all ~betrayed when wow, guess what?! You're not actually a couple! Especially, what made you think you WERE a couple that just hadn't had "that talk" yet? Connor basically TOLD you just a few days earlier that you weren't. In the...month and a half or so that you've been fucking, you admitted yourself that that's about all you do. (You know, except for when you're doing illegal stuff for him...)
Also, so mad right now. Why set up Connor to be this guy who "doesn't do relationships" or at least, certainly doesn't do them often, only go and have him go totally gaga over this random guy he doesn't even know. Because, honestly, if mostly all you do is have sex with someone over the course of 1.5 months...you don't really know them. The guy isn't even attractive (although, I'll allow that this is subjective, esp. since fandom certainly likes him). Like...it took Brian and Justin several seasons to get there.
Like...I wouldn't even be this bitter about this paring if they - the writers/show - actually bothered to, you know, either give them some actual build up or give Oliver some freaking character depth. Even just a little. You don't get to be the MC's serious love interest just on the merits of existing. At least they're trying with Rebecca. (Can't say she's coming off super likeable, but at least there's more to her now than just "hey, look, I'm delusionally idealistic and can do illegal hacks and we fuck a lot.")
PS: I don't think Connor actually believes he "cheated," but if he wants his favorite toy back, he's gonna have to get inside him head. That's just gonna be my headcanon now, thanks.
