Song -- "Airport Goodbye"

May 27, 2010 00:16

(This was somehow inspired by a Qeer as Folk scene....exactly HOW I'm not sure, especially since it ended up not having anything to do WITH QaF)

I see your face in windows
Among the Christmas lights around us
I hear your laughter in the leaves
Playing hide an seek among the trees
I feel your touch with every drop
An autumn drizzle, on and off
A memory spirals, flash and fade
A lingering feeling, all that remains

I said goodbye at the airport last night
I watched you go, felt myself die
For our own good, and life goes on
I said farewell to my only one

I see your face in snowflakes
As they gently fall across my skin
I hear your last words linger
In the silence of a darkened room
One last shot, midnight cigarette
I’d like to say there’s no regret
Our youth is dead, withered. buried
The following days will never vary

I said goodbye at the airport last night
I watched you go, felt myself die
For our own good, and life goes on
I said farewell to my only one
