Happy New Year!!!
Now that I can finally get on LJ, I'm making my Yuletide post-reveals post. It was a smaller Yuletide this year; I'm pretty sure applying to law school and general RL crazyness contributed quite a bit to that. I wrote...slash and femslash and something and something that pretends to be het is probably slash at heart lol. Five fics, four full lengths, one of them a pinch hit. It certainly wasn't a bad year, even if a smaller one than the ones before. Not really any firsts this year (excluding fandoms since I think new fandoms is kind of one of the points of Yuletide). So yea, not really any first this year, unless you count cross-dressing and the fact that I wrote for the same fandom twice (for two separate people). And there was comparatively lots of femslash this year, that too.
Title:
A Rose With ThornsFandom; Farewell My Queen
Paring: Marie Antoinette/Gabrielle de Polignac
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 1,303
Summary: Marie Antoinette is enchanted by the lovely Gabrielle de Polastron from the moment she lays eyes on her.
Comments; This was my main assignment. Came out more as Historical RPF that anything I think. I'm not unhappy with it - I got to stick in some French, so that was fun. But, I so admit that it was hard to write -- I think I liked the idea of the fandom a lot more that I had a practical idea for execution. But. Still. And it's femslash, which is still a biggie for me for I'm not where near as established in it as with gen/het/slash.
Title:
Queen of HeartsFandom; Farewell My Queen
Paring: Marie Antoinette/Gabrielle de Polignac, Sidonie Laborde/Marie Antoinette
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 1,309
Summary: The personal writings of three women which reveal a few things that linger just beneath the surface.
Comments; This was the Pinch Hit. Yea...I don't know why I took this on after having trouble with the initial assignment. I really wanted to pinch hit? IDEK. This one came out better than the other fic in this fandom, I think. I don't know if I just got into the swing of this fandom by then or the style/format was more up my alley, but something gave, obviously. I also just realized that the two fics have almost the same number of words. Lol. That was totally not intentional.
Title:
Ever AfterFandom; Snow White and the Huntsman
Paring: Eric/William
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 1,116
Summary: Once she becomes Queen, Snow White takes no lovers. So The Huntsman and William are left to find a new love. They might not need to look too far.
Comments; Oh I've been seeing this paring ever since I saw the movie and was just totally frustrated at the lack of fic. I mean, seriously? Where did all the slashers go? Come on guys. So! I was really excited to try and write this paring and I think it turned out better then I initially feared it would, although it did take a canon re-watch :p
Title:
An Unexpected Attraction Fandom; Andrew in Drag (song)
Paring: Narrator/Andrew
Rating: PG
Word Count: 1,262
Summary: Andrew is one fine lady when you put him in a dress.
Comments; This was actually written last and so posted to the Madness Collection even though it's full length. Every time there seems to be a song fandom I write for. Probably because it's easy to catch up on the canon. This was...an interesting experience, writing this. I actually kinda wanted to do a sequel at one point shortly after finishing.
Title:
Fighting and HidingFandom; The Borgias
Paring: Micheletto/Augustino
Rating: PG
Word Count: 465
Summary: Micheletto punishes the world for not being as he wants.
Comments; Half gen half slash. Kind of a snippet of a character study. I just really wanted to write for this fandom since it's a regular of mine even outside of Yuletide. And this fandom needs more of this CANON (!!!) slash paring :D
Thank you to all the Yuletiders and everyone who made Yuletide as awesome as it was this year (and all the years before)!
