Excuse the moment of Narcissism
My friend and I were talking about Harry Potter and JK Rowling, and then this AIM convo came up:
Friend: allright well... I guess I read then.
Friend: [effective AFK status]
Me: have fun
Friend: ya know... her writing style reminds me of your writing
This set mixed emotions into action. On the one hand, I've got a writing style similar to the most popular writer on the planet, who is known for her good/clear writing. On the other hand, I have a style similar to the most popular writer on the planet. Since I did not intentionally copy her style, that still makes me original, but if I start writing, the similarity will look like I'm unoriginal.
I'll accept the goodness for now and let the future decide how everyone else views it.
