[The first thing the communicator picks up on is a scream. A long, frantic, terrified scream that is already well underway by the time Chihiro thrashes awake and knocks her communicator on. Her breathing is labored when she finally stops, and her hands are covering the eye she usually has an eyepatch over as if there's something--her eye?--coming ( Read more... )

[Considering how late it is, no to mention Chopper is technically supposed to be asleep (but isn't, mostly because he figures this will keep him from having those terrible nightmares), he responds in text so he doesn't wake up any of his roommates]

it sounds similar to phantom pain, but that tends to only be associated with the loss of a physical limb.

either way, it must just be a neurological problem. it's in your head and must have been triggered by some sort of stress.

An eye isn't the same as a limb, right?

Will it go away soon? I keep seeing the blood, even when I close my eyes.

that's phantom eye syndrome. it can also bring about visual hallucinations, but they shouldn't be as detailed as to show something like blood.

there are treatments, but sometimes they don't work. i don't think we have anything for it in the hospital.

How strange. I wonder what's going on...

That sounds nice. I'm not sure if I want to go back to sleep... but are you having trouble sleeping, too?

whatever it is, i want it to be done soon.

i haven't been able to sleep well since Saturday. [He's actually probably only gotten about ten hours of sleep total since that day.] right now i'm just trying to stay awake as much as possible but i'm really tired.
