Finally an Update
I have a friend in Illinois who possibly has lots of land at his disposal (he guessed he could use about 5 acres or so), and he's thinking of moving onto it. So I'm probably going up sometime in the next few days to help him assess the area and start building an adobe or cob house.
There is a possibility that I could move up there too, but of course it will take quite a bit of time and work getting everything set up. But since I have no real obligations this summer (and nothing fixed for the fall), I figure I'll at least hang out with him until we figure out what we're doing. If not this, he wants to go to New Mexico, and I don't know what I'll end up doing.
Update: "5 acres or so" confirmed!
