Thanks Mother...( Mother Nature, that is)
For the past month or so, we've been kind of slow at work. We've had enough to keep busy for most of the weeks but, ya like to have some fresh work waiting outside so the flow goes nice.
Fast foward to yesterday morning: We got an unexpected mini-snowstorm that started about 6am. It put just enough snow on the roads that it caught mostly everyone by surprise. ( especially during the morning drive)...The traffic guy on the radio said that there were just "too many crashes to list all of them"...Luckily for me, I wasnt part of the morning drive, since I had to wait for the plumber to come and fix my toilet that had been wasting water for a few weeks, and I didnt leave my apt. 'till about 10...thereby escaping the earlier slippery roads.
Anyway, we got 2 cars that had to be towed in, and numerous phone calls from people who's cars were still driveable, but needed to be repaired....So, it looks like we'll be busy once again, at least for a few weeks....Oh, and I heard on the news that there were NO serious injuries reported as a result of all the collisions....Perfect!
It seems as if I write one of these kind of posts every year when the weather gets slippery. I'm not complaing about the windfall of work, but I still cant understand why people will still try to drive at their normal pace when the roads are slippery. Jeezus, it's so simple to slow down, and leave enough space between them and the guy in front of them...Fukkin "suits" in a hurry all the time...enjoy your rental car, cause NOW, I have yours!!
Okay, it's off to Saturday work, which I haven had in quite some time.
