I'm not sure that anyone's really mapped the stars in this place. Perhaps no one's been here long enough to really study them. And as for astrology, well--

Is it perhaps too much for anyone to study or they never given it any thought?

For my part, I know I've simply never given it much thought. I've looked at the stars here, but I've not really studied them. I wonder if the stars here, though, really behave as stars ought to.

That's a little ominous to say, if the stars behave like the ought to.

It is, I know, but since nothing else seems to behave quite like it ought to, what's to say that the stars will?

Is that the same for the flowers, too?

The flowers? So far as I've seen, they seem to behave like flowers ought to. More or less--But I'll blame the 'less' on the weather rather than the flowers themselves-- They don't speak or walk around, for example.

Very true. I haven't seen any venus fly traps get up in Xanudu just yet, for that matter.

Although venus fly traps are unusual flowers to begin with, even without walking about.

They are, but they're a very interesting addition to the environment that they're in. The idea of a carnivore plant is still a little creepy, but they have their own beauty.

Yes, I agree entirely. And isn't it a wonder that they've come to be at all?

I suppose they could have. I don't know what kind of power they really have. I don't know if I want them to have made the stars here or not.

Are they not merciful gods?

I don't think they are. I don't like to think of them as gods at all, really.
