100 Things 38 - Shopping trip from hell
I just had a wonderful trip to the shops. It's my day off, to make up for me having to work this saturday, so I decided to wander off to Markkauf, the supermarket we don't normally visit. I thought I'd pick up something different for dinner tonight, do something different and such. Cani is bound to enjoy a suprise, right? Anyhow, they have Barillia noodles on special offer this week, 1 kilo for 99c. So I wander up to the shelf, and see this woman grabbing huge numbers of packets and throwing them into her trolly. She's basically clearing the place out. So I pick up a packet from the shelf she hasn't cleared out, and start to walk off. However, I immediatly hear this screaching, like a banshee with a sore throat, about how I'm stealing her noodles. And yes, if anyone is wondering, yes I did have my earplugs in, and yes I was once again listening to Fear Factory screaming about how the Machine is taking over the world, and that at a volume that should make me immune to any sound below a nuclear assault.
So a bit later I'm standing at the till, and the bloke in front of me has enough booze in his trolly to kill a regiment, when suddenly someone tries to knock me over with a trolly, and I hear that screaching sound of a banshee with a sore throat again... I walk home, every now and then looking over my shoulder, afraid of hearing the wailing noise right behind me again, and at home I start to unpack, only to realize I forgot the cream at the supermarket. Fuck. So, I go off again, over to Rewe, a chain who have a unhelpful similarity of name with my employer. And in the store I can hear - despite Pantera telling me what they'll do to me if the get me five minutes alone - some kind of noise at the till. Two drunks fighting over a bottle of whiskey.
Let's just hope dinner is worth it tonight...
