I think I'm in a post-performance funk.
The DC Cowboys had been working so hard, trying to get ready for the DC Rodeo. And now that's come and gone... so, I'm sort of like, 'Now what?' Ho-hum.
Well, there is the fundraiser this Friday. We're doing two songs instead of the usual one. And we have some performances coming up in Oct and Nov. Plus, I have my trip to San Francisco in October. So, there are some things on the horizon. In fact, I probably need to start preparing for those things.
Yeah... there's a lot coming up this fall. I have several projects to do for the Cowboys, actually. A program ad, an audition ad, audition flyers. Plus, my friend Jeff needs a poster by Monday! UGH! This on top of my usual work.... which is steady... but which I'm still not really into.
::SIGH::
Since we didn't have Cowboy rehearsal last night, I ended up going out to dinner with Joe, John Fossum and Andy. We went to the Beacon Bar & Grill for there "Neighborhood Half-Off Day"... something they did in the spring apparently. It was half-off the entire the menu. And Heineken and Amstel Light ladies were walking around with free samples of beer as well as other 'tschotkes'...
The company was good... but the service was pretty bad. And none of us really loved our food... The whole dining experience was actually awful and we all vowed that we wouldn't be coming back. other than for their brunch.
After waiting over 30 minutes for the check from our absentee waiter, we finally called the manager over. We explained everything that had gone wrong----wrong wine, no steak knife, main course came 5 minutes after the salad, no sign of our waiter, waiting 30 minutes for the check, etc. And the manager offered to comp us! We got everything completely free!!!! WOW! That wasn't necessarily our goal, but, gee, thanks!!!
We all felt a little guilty not leaving our waiter any money.... but ya know, he never once apologized and repeatedly went by our table without even acknowledging us.
I can't believe the level of bad service in this city. Oh well... now we know... at least the meal was free. And, yeah, I probably won't go back except for happy hour or brunch...
