Springtime for DC

Apr 19, 2014 15:31

Last Sunday, my father-in-law came down for a brief (two day) visit. On Monday, while I was at work, he went into Washington, DC, with my wife and son to see the cherry blossoms, monuments, museums, and so forth. (It was a good day for it; he would have gone back for more on Tuesday but it was raining.) Here are some of the pictures he took.

Above: the Washington Monument and the Jefferson Memorial.

The cherry blossoms in bloom. The National Cherry Blossom Festival brings in a lot of tourists every Spring.

Miss Piggy at the National Museum of American History. There was a larger exhibit of The Muppets which just closed recently; Q was disappointed that Miss Piggy was the only one left when she got there.
