Luna wandered into the Great Hall; her eyes immediately going to Gryffindor table, but when she realized that none of her friends seemed to be there, she sought her own table. Most of the people eating at the table tended to stay away from her whenever possible, so she decided to let them be.

Just as she was preparing to head over to Gryffindor to eat alone, she spotted Mandy and Terry. A smile spread across her face and she skipped over and squeezed in next to Mandy, causing a third year girl to have to move down which caused a chain reaction of several people moving down one seat.

Luna didn't notice the huffs of annoyance from her housemates though. Terry seemed aggravated and Mandy seemed concerned.

"It's the Higglypunes isn't it?" She said knowingly, looking at Mandy.

Mandy willingly moved so Luna could fit in and smiled. Luna was always someone Mandy could get along with. Many in her house and in the school found Luna's antics to be silly and childish but she found them interesting. And who is to say that maybe she really was right, and Mandy was all for knowledge.

Mandy looked confused at Luna, "The Higglypunes? What are they? I never heard of them before."

"They're invisible creatures that nest in ones hair and use their magic to make people grumpy. They're what make your hair so shiny, but it's still a horrible thing to have. I know a remedy for them, but it's better to let them leave on their own." she said smiling distantly. "They'll be what's making Terry seem upset." She quarked her head thoughtfully. "Unless of course, he's just received bad news. But I think it's much more likely that the higglepunes go to him."

Luna reached over and picked up an apple just as she saw a flying pea hit a hufflepuff in the back of the head.
That's odd she thought.
Peas don't usually stick to people so well. There must be gaglepuffs around.

"Luna, I think you mean Hufflepuffs," Terry laughed lightly, unable to keep serious. "They're the ones that keep people grumpy... That and step-mothers." He ended his last thought on a serious note.

Luna looked at Terry and smiled distantly. She must have spoken her thought out loud without even realizing it.

"There's a reason that Step Mothers always seem to be villains in muggle fairy stories, though I don't think all step mothers are evil."

Luna grabbed at some fruit on the table and popped some cut pinneapple into her mouth happily.

She suddenly sat up; excitement on her face. "Wouldn't it be wonderful if we were a muggle fairy story!" She said excitedly. "And you were the hero who was to defeat your wicked step-mother!"
