Well, if the kid was expecting him, he may as well walk straight up to him, right? For Terry, confronting people was never an issue... but that was because most of his random lines that he would blurt out never hit so close to home

Andrew had been laughing with his mates when he heard his name. He turned to see the Ravenclaw looking right at him. It didn't completely surprise him to see him there.
"I gotta go," he said, before gathering his things. This wasn't a conversation he wanted to have around friends.
He gave a curt nod, then motioned with his head to let Kirke lead the way ahead of him. It was almost amusing to think which topic to approach first... Many or his father. Almost.
"Seems like we have a couple of things in common, eh mate?" Terry smirked, his leading question obviously feeling out the other boy's opinion on everything. He wasn't sure if Andrew knew about his close friendship with Mandy.
"Dad's been talking about someone for a while now, just hadn't been interested til he mentioned the last name and it sounded familiar," he drawled casually, watching Kirke for any (Any) reaction or emotion in his face. That's what Boots do... they read people.
"I guess I should have been paying attention over the summer," he said, shrugging his shoulders. "I always thought mum was out with her friends or something."
Drew had been almost annoyed when his mum started going out multiple times a week, leaving him to cook and take care of his little sister. But he never thought much about it. Turns out there was much more going on.
The statement made Terry smirk, and he could only wonder exactly how different they were from each other. Failing to notice something? Unless the other boy was simply avoiding it for as long as he could, just as he had been.
"I've just been avoiding the issue," Boot replied a bit bluntly.
"I've been avoiding....this conversation for a few weeks myself," he said, feeling a little bit guilty about it. Drew liked to think that he faced his problems head on. But he had been afraid of this. It wasn't the Gryffindor way.
"But with the holidays coming up, I guess it's better to meet now."
Drew rubbed the back of his neck and kicked at the ground. His sister was always the eyes and ears of the house when he wasn't around. She told him things his mother wouldn't so Drew realized he probably knew more than Terry did.
"I have a feeling," he said slowly, "especially since your dad has been kind of...spending most of his nights at my mum's."
Terry's stomach rolled over. "No offense, but excuse me while I vomit." His mouth twitched, a look of horror and disgust upon his face. "Your mum's told yo u all that?! You must have a very close relationship with her..."
"Merlin no!" Drew exclaimed, suddenly feeling just as sick as Terry. He couldn't imagine his mum ever telling him something like that. She wasn't quick to share life changing information in general.
"My little sister told me. She owls me pretty often"
"You're not so bad yourself, Boot," Drew said, shaking Terry's hand. He felt a bit of relief. If things with their parents got more serious he wanted to be on good terms with this guy.
"I guess we could...hang out like mates? Grab a butterbeer or something in Hogsmeade."
"I gotta go," he said, before gathering his things. This wasn't a conversation he wanted to have around friends.
"That's me. Boot, right?"

Andrew didn't really expect to meet Terry this way - it was a little sudden. But it was better than anything formal that Mandy would have set up.
"Was this whole thing a shock to you too?"

"Have you met my dad yet? Did your mum tell you who I was?"

"I haven't met your dad but my sister has. She seems to really like him. Have you met my mum?"

Boot wasn't too sure what to think of that. It had been just him and his dad, with some rare appearances from other relatives, for his entire life.

"So, I'm not exactly sure how one proceeds in a situation as such, but you're okay in my book Kirke." He stuck out his hand to the Gryffindor.
