The first book sounds extremely interesting. The novel on the other hand... scary!

Yeah! &hears; I am wondering about this field for some time already and I'm very glad that I'm not the only one! ♥

The novel is supposed to be disturbing. And what's even more disturbing, perhaps, is that it is based on real events.

I actually decided to buy it after I read the interview with its author.

Btw, why does it seem scary to you?

(It is based on the stories of Israeli soldiers that were stationed in Lebanon just before the Israeli army pulled out of there.)

Yeah...it scares me too. On the other hand, sometimes war give one an opportunity to express their highest good. And sets people's head straight...

You know, my grandfather fought in WW2, and my aunt and my grandmother were living through illnesses, poverty and such... my parents were born right after the WW2, so they've experienced the "luxuries" of living in post war USSR...
Both Russia and Israel were heavily influenced by wars, so they have a large part of their culture devoted to this subject.

I personally have experienced non directly three wars after I came to Israel...this whole concept of someone wanting you dead just because is so enraging....

I see... you certainly feel more affected by war... But I guess we all are one way or another...

Yeah, I could say so, I guess, my grandparents and my aunt were frequently telling the younger generation stories about their war experiences, so I'm kinda...familiar with it ( ... )

we have probably touched something that I wasn't aware of
Yes, this can happen!
And who doesn't want to be associated with the war? In the case of the Arab-Isreaeli one, most of the people I know support Palestine. And I admit I am scared to touch the subject...
