"No." It was hard to believe Marcus wasn't looking at me when I said these like that. Somehow his sunglasses seemed to focus on me in amazing ways. Reall,y how could he turn his face just so, so the light reflected in just the right way. "You know it's not allowed!"
"So, it's forbidden?" He chuckled softly and I had to smile, despite my misgivings. "Are you trying to tell me something is forbidden?" Smilingly he reached out, fingers tracing my collarbone before he found my cheek. "You should know better than that."
I found myself blushing as he leaned forward to kiss me, drawing the blankets up over our heads again. I could hear Stephanie's soft breathing in the crib next to our bed as his hands began to stroke my skin lightly, caressing those little spots he seemed to find with amazing ease.
"Nothing's forbidden." His lips brushed mine and I could feel the warmth of his body all along mine. "Just a little more exciting."
She'd had a taste of the forbidden fruit and now she wanted more. She needed more. She craved for him like nothing else. Even the bar of chocolate couldn't fulfill her needs like it usually could. It was him who needed to fill the empty space inside of her, but he couldn't. It wasn't because he didn't want to, because he did, but he'd already made the eternal promise to someone else. The small taste of him she'd had was all she had allowed him to give and herself to take. It was a taste she'd cherish forever and she would take it with her wherever she'd go, but she'd never go back. She wouldn't allow herself. It was her own punishment for nipping at the forbidden fruit. She was bound to live in exile; her heart would never find a home. The home it had chosen was already taken by someone else.
"Daddy says it's forbidden," Brecken said, very serious face.
I laughed, knowing Evan hadn't used such a word and wondering if his teacher had taught him what it meant.
"Honey, it's okay if we here to help. Sit there, hold your arms to cross, like this," I showed him, and when he was sitting real still, I put Honor in his arms and he looked at me, smiling and a bit scared.

take off my coat.
eyes averted,
eyes darting,
eyes anywhere but you.
Not ... allowed.
Downstairs.
tight gap
between you
and a box.
I wait for you to move.
Cant be close.
Not allowed.
I ask for a favour,
innuendo,
joke. laugh.
Don't laugh,
they'll realise.
and they know its
not allowed.
Don't make eye contact.
Don't move too close.
Don't laugh too loud.
Don't even breathe.
Not allowed.
This love
is forbidden.
Restricted.
Not. Allowed.
Forbidden. The problem being,
that just makes me want you
one thousand times more.

"She's pretty," he finally whispered.
