Nobody Could Change Your Mind!

Season finale of Treme is tonight, dommage that it's not going on for another bazillion eps like right now. I'd like to give a signal boost to the Treme-centered blog Back Of Town, which reports that a city ordinance dating from the 50s that prohibits live music after 8 pm (but not power tools and lawnmowers) has been recently over-enforced by the NOPD. Hopefully the locals will be able to do something and get the ordinance revoked (join the FB group if you're on it, it'd help). I like that the blogger uses the term "post-Federal Flood" and not "post-Katrina." *pours one out for Creighton*

Here's a band of NOLA youngsters and their earworm "Nobody Could Change Your Mind," which I hope is true of everyone down there in the Gulf Coast (and not just hipsters):

(I don't think I've mentioned it, but there's a scene, the slightest little scene, in All on a Mardi Gras Day, in which Kim Dickens' character Janette, after unsuccessfully attempting to transform a regular old car into a taxicab by singing "Iko Iko," shrugs, begins to sing again, and leads her own impromptu second line composed of passers-by wandering home from their own magical pursuits. It makes me crazy-joyful.)

treme, caution: ear worm!
