Foxtrot Tango Whiskey

Amusing definition of FTW:

Simply, "WTF" (q.v.) in reverse, giving “FUCK THE WHAT”. Taken to be expletive (in both linguistic-syntactic and grammatical sense) rather than interrogative particle. Not simple in quintessence, the reversal of the letters actually being, perhaps paradoxically self-referential, antithetic to a volte-face of the same.

Also grammatically / etymologically complex therein that it does not imply conversion or transformation of the usual meaning of "WTF", but actually reinforcement thereof, albeit and necessarily ironic.

The full palindrome "WTFFTW" with transliteral meaning is anticipated, but not heard yet {South Africa, December 2009}; this would deviate from "WTFFTW" or "WTF FTW" = “what the fuck for the win”, as found elsewhere in UD.

In other news, I was disappointed to learn that this image was digitally manipulated (however painstaking such labors may have been):

As was this, most likely. Dommage, I would have loved to have participated in the mass effort to build all those snowgolems.

whiskey tango foxtrot!, ftw, gnomic ftw
