Perth Living End Concerts

Sep 03, 2006 23:12

My weekend was absolutely freaking UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!

I have just witnessed the Gods who are the Living End TWICE in a space of three days. I am still reeling from it hey.

Friday night was the 18+ gig and my friends and I got the railing, centre stage!! It was MAD!
Sunday arvo was the All Ages gig.

I can't begin to explain what it feels like for me to watch those men in their musical zone. I don't know enough descriptive words, and I can't be bothered looking for a thesaurus or whatever they're called. But once again, Chris had me mesmerized by his absolute genius! Gah. He is so god damned awe inspiring.

I'm going to put the concert details under a cut as not to ass rape friends pages.

Ok, lets see. From their new album they played:
-In The End
-Long Live the Weekend
-What's on Your Radio?
-Into the Red
-Nothing Lasts Forever

And then they also played some of their 'classics.'
-All Torn Down
-Second Solution
-Roll On
-End of the World (on Friday night)
-Carry Me Home (on the Sunday)
-We Want More
-Who's Gonna Save Us? (Sunday)

Prisoner of Society was their last song before they left the stage. But then they came back for an encore and played Uncle Harry, Wake Up and West End Riot.

On the Friday night, they also played a Rockabilly Medley which was some of their REALLY old stuff. Chris also did little guitar solo's which were cover songs. Like, on both nights they played the intro to 'Thunderstruck' which was cool.

I also have to point out that I think Green Day is having quite a bit of an influence on the band. Chris did the whole getting-the-crowd-to-scream-against-each-other thing that Billie does so well. And his 'introducing of the band to us' bit was so Billie-esque. I was so expecting him to turn around and say "And I am Asshole." But he didn't.

Oh yeah, on the Friday night I went straight from work and my friend met me there early. We were so early we got to see the guys coming out from their sound check. So we went up to talk to them but they were ushed away. We got a wave tho. :D

Merchandise isn't too bad either. It's mainly whats on their online store tho. Only more expensive.

For now, that is all from me. I can't wait to here about your concerts!! And hopefully see photo's! *hint hint*
