#4.

The Album: Sound Of Silver
The Artist: LCD Soundsystem
(Singles off of this album include "All My Friends" (#10) and "North American Scum" (#23). "Daft Punk Is Playing At My House" was the #20 single of 2005 from the #13 self-titled album.)

James Murphy is dangerous. He's already responsible for some of the best singles of the decade, and now he's gone and made one of the best albums. Throwing electronic-rock into full swing, Murphy gives shout outs to his friends in wonderful songs like "All My Friends" and "Us V. Them". But perhaps the most surprising track is the closer, "New York, I Love You But You Bringing Me Down". Turning into Frank Sinatra, Murphy pulls out a piano ballad that smashes into a Weezer single. It seems there is no end to what James Murphy can do.

The Single: Umbrella
The Artist: Rihanna feat. Jay-Z
(Rihanna is rebounding after having two of the worst singles of 2006, with "S.O.S." coming in at #22 and "Unfaithful" coming in at #11.)

Rarely does a song have Jay-Z in it, but make him seem obsolete. After dropping in the introduction, Rihanna comes in and makes the Rocafella king forgettable. The best pop song of the year, thanks to stretching a 3-syllable word to 13 syllables.

The Single: Beautiful Girls
The Artist: Sean Kingston
(This is Sean Kingston's first appearance on my lists.)

Taking "Stand By Me" by Ben E. King and turning it into a worthless crock, Kingston sings about how beautiful girls leave him "suicidal"- funny, listening to this song makes me feel the same way.
