I just swatted a fly out of mid-air with a legal-size clipboard. It bounced off the wall and landed directly in the garbage can.

I also did forget to mention that a scored a second point up on flies when, from about ten feet away, I pegged a fly on the ceiling with an elastic band. It came fluttering to the ground and landed on top of the office mouse.
